In conclusion, I don’t understand why Blender needs to change as of right now. As far as I understand, we’re not going through a big change. Yes, I understand. Thanks for your input. I was happy that this topic came up. I’d like to change the idea for Blender to be more like Unity, Maya, and other popular 3D programms. Having versioning is a pain and it causes a lot of problems for companies and schools who use Blender. Maybe they could use a feature like Unity or Maya does which is to rename it, then make it an OLD version. So all the students in the class could use the OLD version while the company could use the new one.
Another good reason to not change the api is that Blender is under active development. By introducing changes into Blender, you might end up breaking something, and that’s not a trivial task. My suggestions are:
1. Go with YYYY.X for in between versions and X.Z for the final release. If users start using new Y version, they will have to upgrade their Blender installation, and that’s an annoying thing to do.
2. Create a page to show the changelog and provide any feedback.
3. Create a channel on Discord, and/or hang out there and let users and devs know that changes are coming in that version.

To polish it up to be a digital sculpting program would require massive changes to Blender itself as well as totally removing the easy to use interface.
your opinion is not always the best, and most users want to use a simple program that has good features for them. this goes well with your opinion. but the problem is that, Blender is not designed to be a easy way to create.. A professional modeling/designer is still the best choice. Some people would create beautiful animation in Blender, but its not practical for a designer to edit animation. So, to push on something that you want, then you better put your focus on Blender to be good for what you really want to do.

Yeah, I was thinking of that too. This approach would allow for a lot of other great features to come back into the blender based on this new version. Future versions could be less versions after an LTS release. On average every LTS Blender releases every two years, on average three full versions after a LTS release: LTS 1: Blender 2.8.x, LTS 2: Blender 2.7.x, LTS 3: Blender 2.70 etc. But to be honest, I dont think this is necessary.
